Meet Clark: current DI associate, future social worker.
Clark came to work at DI because he needed a career change and he wanted to further his education. Previously, Clark had worked in a bank and as a licensed cosmetologist, but he felt the draw to find a career where he could work with people one on one in a counseling situation.
With the help of DI, Clark has started taking some online classes through BYU–Pathway, and he’s become a lead associate. He’s able to learn new things through his schooling and on the job each day as he helps mentor his fellow associates.
“As a lead, I’m learning so much. Time management, delegation, and working with what you have,” he said. “Working here has been a great experience. I wish more people would come in and see the store and talk to the associates. Sometimes DI gets a bad rap—that’s just where you take your stuff. People don’t realize this is a training center and that people are building new lives. It can be a springboard and a new beginning.”
