When Litea began working at Deseret Industries, it had been more than a decade since she had last held a job. Although returning to the workforce was a big change, Litea was confident that the experience would positively impact her life. 

“I saw that DI had great opportunities to help,” Litea says. 

Now, Litea is receiving support from Deseret Industries as she works on personal and professional goals, such as getting her driver’s license. She is also improving skills like teamwork, professionalism, and dependability through her participation in the DI job training program. 

Thanks to her hard work and dedication, Litea was promoted to be a team lead. She constantly looks for ways to inspire her team members and emphasizes reaching goals. 

“I don’t like to think that I’m better than anyone on my team,” Litea says. “We’re all equal—that's how I see it. We all work as a team and respect each other.”

As she is strengthening her skillset, Litea is also working with a development counselor, who is assisting her with career planning. Litea has received support with resume building, job searching, and more. 

“She’s helping me learn how to go in for an interview and how to prepare myself,” Litea says. 

Litea hopes to use the skills she’s gaining not simply to get better work, but to obtain her dream job.  

“I want to be a teacher to help kids with special needs,” Litea says.
