When Seth was hired as a DI associate in late 2020, his goal was to get his driver’s license—which he did. But he has accomplished much more than that over the last two and a half years, such as receiving a leadership role and becoming forklift certified.
“This is my first job, and I didn’t know what to expect,” Seth says. “But I took off, and they made me a team lead.”
Seth has worked in various assignments, including small as-is and the dock. He has used his leadership skills to help his team members feel welcome, encouraged, and successful. He also inspires confidence.
“I teach people not just to do the job, but to try to succeed [outside] of DI,” Seth says. “That is my goal. Just help others learn.”
Seth enjoys seeing how well everyone works together and loves making a difference. His initial reason for seeking employment and accepting this job was to help with finances at home. Once he leaves DI, Seth hopes to have an opportunity to apply his skills in a better position.
“I want to get a nice-paying job,” he says. “I already know how to work a warehouse, and I like driving the forklift, so I feel like that would be a cool job.”
