When Matthew began working as a DI associate, he set two goals for himself: build confidence, and make decisions for his future. In the three months since beginning the job, Matthew has seen growth in both areas.

“I don’t like doing new things, but I need to do new things,” Matthew says. “The biggest help for me is interacting with people one-on-one, going to meetings, and doing things that are businesslike.”

Matthew is also preparing to pursue larger goals, such as going to college to get a degree in computer programming or software engineering. While at DI, he has become more comfortable in crowds, made new friends, and gained real world experience. He credits his job coach for helping him reach this point.

“He is understanding and willing to help, especially if you find something stressful that you need help with,” Matthew says. “The people here are a lot more understanding and kind than you may think.”
