Koffi works hard at Deseret Manufacturing, gaining trade skills. Originally from Togo, Koffi came to the United States at the end of 2015. He left all of his family behind in West Africa, including his young son.
In Togo, Koffi got a diploma and started learning English, but he still needed some help with the language after arriving in the US. "It was very bad," he says of his language skills. "Now it's better than before."
Koffi chose to come to the US so he could have different opportunities and better take care of his family. In the future, Koffi dreams of starting his own business or possibly owning a farm.
"I hope to make my life better," Koffi says. "That's why I work, do my best, save money."
