For Izzy, the people he has met since coming to Deseret Industries have impacted him the most. He’s been supported by the staff members, his coworkers, and his bishop. When Izzy starts feeling overwhelmed, he turns to his coaches and friends at Deseret Industries for encouragement. His bishop even helped Izzy get a computer so he would be able to do homework and keep up with his coursework.
“If it wasn’t for the DI, I wouldn’t have been able to get through and make it as far as I have,” Izzy says. “I’m tired, really tired, but I’m getting through it.”
Izzy’s dream is to work in materials manufacturing, making items like medical equipment and prosthetics. With the help of Deseret Industries, he’s currently taking a composite technology class that he hopes will open a lot of doors for him moving forward.
In addition to his class, Izzy is also working toward getting his driver’s license for the first time ever. He’s excited about the prospect.
“I’ve got faith, and I’m keeping positive,” says Izzy.
