"I just struggle with life by myself," says Furaha, whose family all lives in Africa. She came to the United States on her own when she was 18 years old, and she misses her family terribly.

 

At Deseret Industries, Furaha has gained a support system. She has found a place where she can learn and grow with people to help her along the way.

 

"At work, I have a lot of friends here who help me not to be stressed," says Furaha. "And they're helping me to learn a lot of stuff."

 

In the future, Furaha hopes to do office and secretarial work. At DI, she's been able to start learning computer skills. Her goal is to save up and buy a computer of her own so that she can hone her new skills at home.
