When I started working at Deseret Industries (DI), I was suffering. I had experienced a series of health setbacks that cost me my job and caused me serious financial problems. Because of the stress, my relationships were also suffering. I needed something to do and someplace to be that would support me through this challenging time. DI was the right place.
DI helped me to more fully connect with the support of my priesthood leaders. I discovered that they were there for me, and I could feel that special spirit of love they had for me. This helped me heal emotionally from the many setbacks I had experienced.
One of the great accomplishments I had during my training at DI was earning my alternative high school–equivalency diploma (GED). This was something I never thought I could accomplish; however, with the support of DI, I achieved this important goal.
As I healed physically, my team at DI was there to support me. When I needed encouragement to achieve my goals, my team at DI was there to motivate me. From them I learned that goals are good and that when you stick with doing the small things, they eventually become a big thing that is accomplished. The biggest thing I accomplished was my new job. I am so very grateful for all the help and support I received to achieve this big thing!
