I am a trained and experienced nurse, having been in the profession for more than 25 years. Employment usually came easy to me, with friends telling me about jobs or physicians who knew me and asked me to work for them. I had never worried about finding work, until I moved and discovered my job search skills were “rusty.” I needed help.

My bishop was instrumental in referring me to Deseret Industries. At DI, I participated in the training program, then moved to the Advanced Placement Program. During this time, I not only received job training and work experience, but I was taught invaluable lessons on how to present myself in an interview and resume writing. With this help, I soon found new employment.

I want to tell all of my friends at DI to not get discouraged, rather to stay focused and pray. Like me, they too will be blessed in their efforts. The job coaches, trainers, and development specialists at Deseret Industries are there to help. I especially want to tell them—thank you.
