Timothy started working as an associate at Deseret Industries in early 2020 following a recommendation from his bishop. He wanted to take advantage of the job training and better prepare for future employment opportunities. 

Over the last several months, Timothy has worked to improve his computer skills by taking courses available through DI. He has learned the basics in word processing, spreadsheets, and slideshows while also continuing to develop important life skills such as budgeting, presenting, and preparing a resume.

“It's a great place to work,” Timothy says. “They provide you with all kinds of opportunities. You get training like cashiering and running a forklift. They also help you get schooling, depending on what you want to do.” 

Timothy credits his co-workers for creating a positive atmosphere to work in and for enabling him to be successful in his job.

“Everybody’s really friendly,” he says. “The job coaches are good. They are there to help you with whatever you need.”
